Second to last piece, last one on the go, cutting it pretty fine for a monday hand in… No worries eh…
A collection of my drawings, with as few puns as possible...
I just uploaded “Saturday Selection” to www.mixcloud.com - listen now!
Anonymous asked: Hi! Randomly bumped into 'Inhale' and I fell in love with your work. Is there any chance I could buy one of your illustrations? Thanks!
Hi. Really pleased you enjoyed it.
The majority of my recent work will be going on show at the end of June at my degree show for Norwich University College of Art, and also at New Blood in London. I am making a limited edition print run of a selection of the images, which I will also have on sale at the shows and on my online shop, http://rupertsmissenillustration.bigcartel.com.
If you are interested in a particular image, please feel free to email me at rupertsmissen89@hotmail.co.uk.
Cheers.
This was my final entry for the little white lies D&AD brief. Now I know its a bit late, but I got nominated for a yellow pencil for it, chuffed. Anyway, I thought it best to post up the final entry now the shortlist is up on the D&AD website, if only to show how I rectified my embarrassing type suggestion…
Check out the others too, a classmate of mine at Norwich University College of Art, Stacey, has also been nominated for her excellent portrait of George Smiley from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
This is the drawing from my stop motion video. (https://vimeo.com/41385343) Really pleased with this one, and the inclusion of angiograms is something I am looking to pursue in future images.
This is the result of my 48hr endurance drawing session spent under a tripod in my room. I’ve always wanted to make a stop motion video of a drawing, and although the laborious process has left me reeling (thats definitely probably a pun perhaps…), I like the results. Might do another, maybe save that for after my degree tho… I’ll put the resulting image up later this eve, but for now hope ya enjoy my first foray into animation.
Today I’m helping Rupert Smissen make a time lapse video of the creation of one of his amazing drawings. This is a photo of what he’s going to be doing for the next 8 hours.
I should have the video finished sometime this week, so expect an update with the results soon.
Cheers Dave. Although 8hrs is now looking fairly optimistic… Might need a new back afterwards too. Still, exciting stuff, stay tuned.
I guess its a self portrait, in so far as its a silhouette of my head and I love drawing trees… Really pleased with this one, although kinda annoyed by the fact that I think the detail snapshot looks better than the final image.
